Photograph what you own.
Asset Fox does the typing.
Point your phone at a television and it comes back a Sony KD-55X80J, serial read off the plate, priced, filed under Televisions, ticked for your insurance and watched for the week its warranty runs out. A home inventory you can actually finish.
Free. Bring your own AI key. Android app included.

Photograph a thing
The whole thing, then a close-up of the rating plate. Everything else fills itself in while you walk to the next room.
Why Asset Fox
Most home inventories die in the first twenty minutes, at about the fourth item, because every item is a form. This one is a photograph.
The typing is done for you
A spreadsheet or a typical inventory app gives you an empty row and thirty fields. Asset Fox reads the make, model, serial number, room and replacement value off the photograph, and you correct what it got wrong - which is a very different afternoon.
It answers the question insurers actually ask
Contents policies carry a separate limit per category. Knowing you own $47,000 of things is no use; knowing $12,400 of it is computers is the number that tells you whether you are underinsured. Asset Fox totals by category and prints a schedule.
Your own AI key, your own account
You paste in a key from Anthropic or OpenAI and the cost of reading your photos is whatever those services charge - cents. There is no per-item limit, no plan to outgrow, and nobody is monetising a catalogue of everything in your house.
The receipt counts as evidence
Photograph the receipt and the date, the shop and the price you actually paid go on the record - and that price beats any estimate. At claim time the difference between a receipt and a guess is the whole conversation.
It tells you before the warranty runs out
The weeks before a warranty ends are the last cheap chance to get a fault looked at. Asset Fox knows when each one ends, puts the ones about to expire on your home screen, and has the receipt, the photographs and the manufacturer's support address sitting on the same record - which is the whole claim, in one place.
Every property, and everyone who lives there
Home, the holiday house, the office, the farm - each is a property with its own register and its own insurance schedule, because a policy is usually written per address. Share one with a partner or a housemate and you both see, add and correct what is in it, from your own accounts.
It prints
An asset register, an insurance schedule and a warranty report as PDFs, drawn from the same pages you use. Something to hand a broker, an insurer or a loss adjuster that is not a shoebox of receipts.
It is on your phone
An Android app with the camera one tap away, because an inventory you have to go back to a desk for is an inventory you do not finish. The web app works everywhere else.

Against the usual alternatives
Compared honestly against the two things most people actually try.
| A spreadsheet | A typical inventory app | Asset Fox | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adding an item | Type every field | Type every field, on a phone | Take a photo |
| Make, model, serial | You look them up | You look them up | Read off the photo |
| What it is worth | You guess | You guess | Estimated, or read off the receipt |
| Totals by category | A formula you write | Sometimes | Built in, and it prints |
| Insurance schedule | Build it yourself | Rarely | One PDF |
| Warranty expiry | A reminder you forget to set | Rarely | On your home screen |
| More than one address | Another tab | Sometimes | A property each, with its own schedule |
| Your household | Email the file around | Often a paid plan | Share a property, free |
| Cost | Free | Usually a subscription | Free, plus cents of AI usage |
Inventory apps differ from one another; the middle column describes the common shape rather than any one product.
Questions
Do I need an AI key?
To have photos read, yes - one from Anthropic or OpenAI, pasted into Settings. Without one the app still works: your photos are saved and the form asks you to fill in what you know.
What does it cost?
The app is free. Reading a photo costs whatever your AI provider charges for one image, which is cents, and it is billed to your account rather than ours.
What happens to my photos?
They are stored against your account, and a resized copy of each one is sent to the AI service you chose so it can be read. Nothing else leaves. See the privacy page.
Can I correct what it gets wrong?
Every field, any time. A correction you type is never overwritten by a later analysis - only asking it to read the photos again will replace it, and that button says so.
How does it know when a warranty ends?
Purchase date plus the warranty length, which it reads off the box or the receipt where that is stated and otherwise assumes is a year. Anything ending in the next 90 days appears on your home screen. That figure is the manufacturer's warranty - Australian Consumer Law guarantees have no fixed length and apply on top of it.
Can my partner or housemate use it too?
Yes. Each of you signs up, then whoever owns a property shares it by email. You both see, add, edit and delete the things in it, each from your own account and with your own AI key. The owner decides who has access, and anyone can leave.
I have more than one place. Does that work?
Add a property for each one - Home, Office, Farm, the holiday house. Your list and your insurance schedule can show everything or one property at a time, so each insurer gets the schedule for their address and nothing else.
Is there a paid plan?
Pro is coming: up to 100 items a month, with the AI handled for you so there is no key to find. It is not on sale yet - sign up, press I'm interested in Settings, and we will get back to you.
Is there an app?
An Android app, built from the same pages, with the camera one tap away. Download it from the link in the footer.
Start with the most valuable thing in the room
Photograph it. That is the whole setup. No spreadsheet to design, no thirty fields to type, nothing to pay.
